The Akita University Career Support Division held a Career Guidance seminar for fourth year undergraduate students and second year graduate students on Thursday April 14. The topic was "Preparation for Job Hunting, Briefing for the Job Fair, and Interviews from Now". Including graduate school students there were 25 students from the department of Education and Culture, and 37 students from the department of Engineering Science who participated in the seminar.
First, the Career Coordinator gave a lecture and talked about the current circumstances surrounding job hunting, advice for writing a cover letter, and then advice about what they need to be mindful of when they attend the fair that will be held on April 24.
Then a member of the Career Support Division staff explained about what they need to be careful of when they go into an interview, especially since it is now interview season, a time when the selection time is expedited by companies.
A student said, "I am very glad that I could listen to the basic information, because I just started job hunting." Another student said, "This seminar was a good reference for job hunting schedules. It resolved my doubts and insecurities."
If you could not participate the seminar this time, do not worry. We are distributing materials at Career Support Division. Also we have a DVD of the seminar available for rental. Feel free to come to Career Support Division and ask us for it.
