Graduate School of Medicine and Faculty of Medicine
Akita University Graduate School of Medicine and Faculty of Medicine was founded in 1970, the first newly-established medical school of the post-war period, thanks to the enthusiastic support of the people of Akita Prefecture.
The University Hospital contributes to the regional medical services by providing students and faculty with an opportunity to conduct medical research and learn about the latest medical techniques.
In 2009, Graduate School of Medicine was set apart from the undergraduate medical education program in order to place greater emphasis on advanced global medical research as well as a solid postgraduate education system.
