Faculty of International Resource Sciences, Akita University offers a special program to five MEXT scholarship students.

【Program】

“Education Program for Global Resource Sector by Integrating Arts and Sciences”
: Program to cultivate global human resources in interdisciplinary fields of resource sciences for the future

【Overview】

The Faculty of International Resource Sciences known as FIRS, provides international education in resource sciences by offering all courses taught in English in the three departments: Dept. of Resource Policy and Management; Dept. of Earth Resource Science, and Dept. of Earth Resource Engineering and Environmental Science, in which courses are offered in humanities/social science, geo-science and engineering, respectively. Our aim is to nurture talented individuals who can play an active role in the global resource field, regardless of nationality. Therefore, we actively accept international students.

The program has been selected for the Priority Placement Special Program for Japanese Government Scholarship Students of MEXT, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and we have started accepting applications from all over the world.

【Scholarship】

A monthly stipend of JPY 117,000 (subject to change in each academic year) is granted. Admission and tuition fees will be waived.
