Student Group “Kumamoto Support Team” Contributed to Akita Branch of Japan Red Cross Society

 

 

 

Student group “Kumamoto Support Team” of Akita University raised contributions for the victims of Kumamoto earthquake. Support fund, total of 56,507 yen from the students and faculty members was contributed to Akita Branch of Japan Red Cross Society.
The team consists of 11 members called on donations in Tegata Campus 4 times from early May.
On June 9th, 3 members visited Japan Red Cross Society Akita branch office to hand over support fund.
One of the team member said the reason for setting up “Kumamoto Support Team” comes from a sense of helplessness he felt at the Great East Japan Earthquake when he was in high school.
He mentioned “We would like to continue support to the victims of disaster from student’s point of view.”
