Undergraduate Admissions

Entrance Examination for Privately Financed International Students

Students are selected based on the combination of their Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) score and the achievement exams conducted by Akita University.

Tuition Exemption

Undergraduate and graduate students who have excellent academic records and are facing financial difficulties are eligible for full, half, or one-third tuition exemption.


Honors Scholarship at Akita University (50,000 yen per month)

Akita University has established its own scholarship programs for those who have excellent academic records and are recommended by our overseas partner universities. Degree-seeking graduate students and short-term exchange students are eligible for the program.

Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) Scholarships

Privately Financed Scholarship (for self-funded students)

Although very competitive, there are some privately financed scholarships for self-funded students.
