Students of Akita University Affiliated Junior High School visit ICREMER.(August 8, 2012)

On Wednesday, August 8, a group of students of Akita University Affiliated Junior High School visited the International Center for Research and Education on Mineral and Energy Resource (ICREMER) as a part of their activities in general education.
Their tour started with a general introduction on ICREMER, given by the Center’s Director Toshio Mizuta. Then, in reply to students’ questions which had been communicated in advance to their visit, ICREMER’s teaching staff members gave explanations on topics corresponding to their field of specialties, such as “cutting-edge technologies for resources exploration”, “Japan’s resource diplomacy” and “recycling of used materials.” After the explanations, they visited the Akita University Venture Business Laboratory and the Mineral Industry Museum.
Later on, ICREMER received a letter from the students with a message to appreciate the Center’s attention upon their visit, which was impressive to those who had been involved in this event on the part of Akita University.
