To commemorate the signing of partnership agreement, Akita University and Japan Oil Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) held a special symposium at the Seminar Room of Akita University’s Venture Business Laboratory on July 14.
The speakers on the part of JOGMEC were Mr. Fumiaki Fujita, Executive Vice President, Mr. Hideyuki Ueda, Executive Director, the board of Metals Strategy and Exploration, and Mr. Yoshinori Yamanaka, Senior Manager, Zinc Business Unit, DOWA Metals & Mining Co., Ltd.
Prof. Toshio Mizuta, Director of International Center for Research and Education on Mineral and Energy Resource (ICREMER), and Prof. Tsuyoshi Adachi also made speeches to introduce activities of ICREMER and to present technical perspectives towards assurance of resource availability. The symposium had participation of audience from both inside and outside the university.
