On November 29th (Wednesday), we held a face-to-face roundtable discussion with Dr. Victor Norrefeldt, from the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (IBP), Germany, and high school students from Akita Prefecture(12 paticipants from 4 high schools).
All communication was conducted in English, and after Dr.Victor explained how he wanted to become a researcher and his specialty, environmental control in aircraft cabins, the high school students asked questions.
The high school students who participated made comments such as, ``I'm interested in aircraft research,'' and ``I want to improve my English and be able to talk about more things,'' and the event had a positive impact.
Led by the Regional Talent Development Department, we will continue to disseminate information and educate not only junior high and high school students, but also elementary school students and working adults, in order to promote the development of science-related human resources who can be active in local areas.
