Support for future power grid verification tests involving aircraft.
We aim to become one of the leading electrification test sites in Japan.
The Evaluation Laboratory for Next Generation Motors was realized through the renovation of the former Akita Municipal Tanehira Elementary School. The renovated gymnasium is large enough to accommodate the fuselage of a commercial aircraft with 150 to 200 seats, and is equipped with a system testing facility (nicknamed “Copper Pheasant”) that can support future power grid verification tests involving aircraft.
Research and development related to aircraft systems technology can be performed as follows:
Motor performance evaluation tests
Durability tests of motor-driven load
(environmental resistance testing)
System tests using the grid (electrical power lines)
