“Smart Mining Special Program” Information Meeting

On February 8th, 2023 - the Graduate School of International Resource Science of Akita University conducted the Information Meeting of “Smart Mining Special Program” for undergraduate students. Seven students from Akita University (three in person, four online) who consider to apply for this program joined this information meeting.
Associate Professor. Toriya (charging this program) explained curriculums; “Collaborative Training 1 (students from Japan gather, students from African side join online and they take lectures of the social sciences and humanities related to resource development),” “Collaborative Training 2 (all students visit DigiMine Lab. at the University of Witwatersrand (South Africa) which is one of the overseas partner universities to learn newest Smart Mining technology).”
 
This program is intended for Master course students in Japan and Africa, aims to provide our future global leaders with a base in conventional resource development and additional, practical knowledge on improved resource development (Smart Mining) and informatics science (AI, IoT, big data, etc.).
The program will start in the spring and the application period is from February 14th, 2023 to February 22nd, 2023. We are looking forward to receiving many applications.
