AY2019
Short-term overseas study program
Kentaro Sawada
2nd year,
Faculty of International Resource Sciences

What I learned through the program

English lectures (listening, speaking, reading, writing)
Presentations (15 minutes, 7 minutes)
Canadian history, great people, English grammar

My life during the program

At my host family’s house, there were Chinese and Thai students, and I enjoyed talking about their lives and their countries when we all gathered for dinner. Overall, it was an incredibly valuable experience to be able to directly experience a different lifestyle, way of thinking, and culture from Japan.

Overall impressions of the program

At my host family’s house, there were Chinese and Thai students, and I enjoyed talking with them about their lives and their countries during dinner and other times when we were all together. Overall, it was a truly valuable experience for me to be able to directly experience different lifestyles, ways of thinking, and culture from Japan. I also spent classes and holidays with students from other universities, which provided good stimulus.

Future plans for study

I would like to further improve my English skills, especially my listening skills, by making the most of my contact with native English speakers. I will also try to study English every day to improve my TOEIC score.
