Reports on study abroad experiences

I am currently living and studying in Newfoundland, the easternmost island of Canada. The culture of Newfoundland is a little bit different from the rest of Canada, which makes it very interesting. The food, nature, and dialects that are unique to Newfoundland are things that you can't experience anywhere else. Also, Newfoundland is an island, so it lacks the convenience of a big city, but the people who live there are really warm and friendly, and above all, it is safe.
 
I have been attending different campuses this semester and last semester. Last semester, I mainly took ESL classes, and this semester, I am taking linguistics and English education classes. The classes I am taking this semester are particularly useful for me in my field of English education and my own English study, as I am able to absorb in-depth content that I am unable to learn in Japan. Each semester, I go to a different campus, and the things I learn, the people I interact with, and the environment around me are completely different, so I feel like I get to study abroad twice, which gives me a lot more stimulation.
 
The area in which I feel that I have grown the most while studying abroad is that my thinking has broadened. Living here, I am able to experience not only Canadian culture, but also the cultures of many other countries by interacting with students of different nationalities. Through these experiences, I realize that things that were commonplace in Japan are not commonplace in the world, and this has broadened my narrow perspective. I think this is the kind of growth that can only come from studying abroad.
 
When I first came to Newfoundland, I was filled with anxiety, but now I love the people, culture, and nature here, and my desire to stay in Newfoundland forever has only increased. I will try my best to savor my remaining time here and complete my study abroad experience in a fulfilling way.
