Special Lecture and Gallery Talk for released Digital Gallery “Picture Maps and Scroll Paintings of the Mines”

 

 

 

On May 13th, Akita University held a special lecture and gallery talk co-hosted by the University Library and Mining Museum dedicated to releasing of “Akita University Digital Gallery, Picture Maps and Scroll Paintings of the Mines”.
Started with the opening speech from Director of the Library Setsuo Aso and then characteristics and operating instructions for the digital gallery were explained from the person in charge.
Director of Mining Museum Tadao Imai made a gallery talk for culture of Ani Mine reading from the picture maps and scroll paintings. He indicated “By digitalizing the document it is now available to see in detail and use it at any time for better understanding.” “Digital Gallery is open to all who has access to internet for use.”
At last, until June 20th, Akita University is holding exhibition projected by the University Library and Mining Museum, titled “Rediscovery of the Mine by Digital Graphics at Mining Museum.
