In order to produce people who can contribute to the workforce of the future and be active in regional society, students engage themselves in social studies courses such as politics, economics, law, and sociology. Furthermore, they study domestic science, geometry, and historical science. Engagement in these studies leads to the understanding of regional society publicly, privately, timewise and spacewise. In addition to these studies, students are encouraged to do volunteer work, and to study and train in private enterprises or public administrations. |

In an international society, our purpose is to produce people who can be a bridge between Akita and the rest of the world. As you can see by the "Akita-Northeastern Asia Gate Bridge Plan", which Akita Prefecture planned in 1998, a close relationship between regional societies and international societies is becoming more and more important. In this program, while developing abilities to communicate in English, German, French, Russian, Chinese and Korean, students are required to gain deeper understanding of Japanese, American, and European cultures. |

The purpose of this program is to produce people who have a total understanding of the relationship between human beings and the environment, and who can contribute to preservation of the environment. This will enable people to live a quality life. Therefore, the emphasis in the program is to study the balance between the development of science, technology, and society. |
